AAS-CMS

A core component of AAS-Platform is a content management system, which is currently implemented as an extension to Pier CMS. The following major extensions have been necessary to adapt Pier CMS to the specific requirements of ambient activity systems:

• Its Kernel, to accommodate runtime adaptation of functionality, and closed-loop lifecycle management.
• Its explicit representation of the application's structure, to include the node types and behavior that are specific to ambient activity systems.

These extensions are operated:

• By refactoring Pier CMS, without breaking its design. Consequently, all Pier CMS evolutions and plug-ins will be readily compatible with AAS-CMS and AAS-Platform, and reusable in their distributions, as it is the case with current code base and plug-ins.
• As complementary modules: AAS-CMS may be deployed in its own, without requiring the modules specific to runtime adaptation of functionality, and closed-loop lifecycle management being necessarily deployed too. The latter may, however, be uploaded later, while the AAS-CMS is in production.

As an example, this website that you are navigating through is based on AAS-CMS. Thereby, it does not offer all the features of ambient activity systems, whilst our showcase is based on AAS-Platform and better illustrates those features. For more information, please contact us.
